Quarantine Special
Hey guys! So sorry I haven't posted anything new in weeks. It's been crazy lately with everything that is going on with the coronavirus and since I have been out of work and most of my extracurricular activities for about a week, my life has been pretty uneventful. So I thought I would take a break from my normal blogging and tell some funny stories from my childhood. I will start with one that I like to call Sibling Rivalry......
It was summer vacation, which meant my older sister, younger brother and myself were all out of school. While the three of us kids got along most of the time, we definitely had our share of arguments. Well, one day my sister and I got really mad at my brother. I only wish I could remember what he did that infuriated us so much. But I have no idea. Anyway, my sister and I were so mad that we decided to get back at my brother by doing something we knew would annoy him. So we brought our huge plastic container of doll dresses into his room and dressed up his stuffed animals and beanie babies to make them look like girls. I have a specific memory of putting Barney the Dinosaur in a frilly pink and mint green dress and sitting him on a pretend doll potty. Traditional male characters such as Winnie the Pooh, Batman and Ernie from Sesame Street also got the full female makeover. When my brother came up to his room and saw what my sister and I had done, he was so mad that he decided we deserved some form of revenge as well. So he took lots of dolls and stuffed animals and piled them right in my bedroom doorway so my sister and I couldn't get back into my room. We continued pulling mean pranks on each other throughout the day, until my dad got home and learned how we were spending our summer vacation. This called for a dad lecture. My dad sat the 3 of us down and explained that "We don't gang up on each other in this house" and that we needed to find better ways to resolve our arguments. The sibling battle pretty much ended after that.
